Hey, please help.
"Express as a single logarithm in its simplest form"
log(x+3) + 2log(x-1) - log(x^2+2x-3)
Sooo firstly...
log(a^b) = blog(a)
loga + logb = log(ab)
loga - logb = log(a/b)
Applying these:
log(x + 3) + 2log(x - 1) - log(x^2 + 2x - 3)
= log(x + 3) + log(x - 1)^2 - log(x + 3)(x - 1)
= log[ (x + 3)(x - 1)^2 / (x + 3)(x - 1) ]
= log(x - 1)
===
Express As A Single Logarithm
log [(x + 3)(x - 1)^2 /(x + 3)(x - 1)]
log (x - 1)
