Normally when I work out I workout one day, and then use the next to rest. but the past few weeks i've bought a new workout drink and my workouts have just been alot more intense, causing my muscles to really break down and get sore on my rest day....so my question is if my muscles are sore on my rest day, and then still sore again on days I would normally work out should I keep resting until they feel better? I want my muscles to be fully repaired before i start tearing them down again, or so I thought. Just wanted your guys advice...thanks!

I work out three days per week, MWF. Excessive soreness results from being new to working out, doing excessive volume or trying a new exercise or angle for a particular muscl group (obviously I'm not talking about soreness at the muscular level).
Here's my suggestion. Preworkout you need to warm up. I dont mean 1-2 light sets then blast the weights. I mean get on a tredmill (NOT A BIKE) to get your WHOLE BODY warm, for at least 10 minutes, and work yourself up a sweat. Then stretch the particular muscle groups you plan to work that day (or do a whole body stretch, which is better for you).
The workout: Cut down the excessive volume. In terms of working sets (sets that you actually do maximal work on) aim for 3-4 at about 6 reps max for strength (and believe me, with strength comes size).
Post workout get back on the tredmill for 5 minutes and once again stretch. Let me know how you start feeling the day after. Also stretch on your off days.
