What does you being fat have to do with anything else in your life? Some guys are hairy while many other guys have little to no body, facial or pubic hair. People of different nationalities grow hair differently.
I think facial hair is genetic - not sure you can change that, really. I know men who have to shave twice a day, and others who only shave twice a week..
But I wanted to answer this question because of your other problem - weight gain, being unfit.. THESE are things you can do something about!
In the one case, facial hair, you can only work with what you've got.. be your best, look your best, dress your best, and ACCEPT what you can't change - but in the other case, fitness and diet - this is more of a motivation/discipline sort of thing.
Because you have put these two things together, I am guessing that you are upset/down about not having facial hair, and that is why you are overeating etc?
When you have a problem "THINK MORE ABOUT THE BAD STUFF" solves NOTHING.. It is a complete and utter waste of your time and energy.. and the more you think about your problems/situation, the more it effects your emotions. negative thoughts CAUSE negative emotions. This is the only way our feelings work. If you are thinking about the funniest movie you ever saw, you FEEL amused.. if you are constantly thinking negative, self defeating thoughts, it is literally impossible to ever FEEL content or happy..
The good news in all of this, is that what we think about is always a CHOICE. We decide every waking moment what we will think about.. You are not meant to be controlled by your thoughts/feelings, you are meant to control THEM!
And it isn't so difficult to do..
step 1 - a negative thought comes to mind "day by day I'm getting fat and getting out of shape"
step 2 - stop right there and reply "No. I refuse to think about this anymore. this way of thinking solves NOTHING. This way of thinking is negative, and will therefore cause negative feelings. This ways of thinking can only lead to depression. and so, I refuse to think this way anymore."
step 3 - CHANGE YOUR FOCUS to something positive and self-affirming "Negative thinking is a HABIT. Habits can be changed. Negative thoughts are like little brats that want all my attention, but I absolutely do not have to give it to them. I am capable of changing the way I think. Negative thoughts don't control me. I CONTROL ME. By setting some goals, and sticking to those goals, day by day, I will get slimmer and more in shape!"
do you see how this works? Recognize a negative (useless) thought, reject it, and replace it with a positive SOLUTION..
Solutions move you forward, solutions get you 'unstuck' from the problem. Solutions bring back hope and enthusiasm to your life.. The solution is always going to be an ACTION.. never focus on a problem, focus on the SOLUTION to a problem. this keeps the mind in a positive state.
In your case, actions that you can take are:
- surround yourself with positive influences regarding fitness/weightloss - join a gym or team or club (or get your friends involved by suggesting activities such as walking, running, hiking, playing soccar, basketball, etc.. instead of sitting around when you see them). Read articles/books/magazines on fitness and diet - you want to SATURATE your mind with motivation - we BECOME what we think about.. you can't help but 'conform' to your thoughts.. so you need to make sure you are exposed to those thoughts. You can not get positive results from negative thinking. Not possible. For me, whenever I feel unmotivated to work out, I watch the Rocky workout
I've watched this so often that now I just have to hear the song to feel totally energized and motivated. :-)
- be your own best friend, your own life coach - this is VITALLY important - you MUST support and encourage yourself to achieve success. Think about this - depressed people put themselves down, call themselves names - this is being your own worst enemy, your own bully 24/7 - is it any wonder then that depressed people feel beaten down?! they are doing it to themselves. Is it any wonder they can't succeed? The ego is a fragile thing - think of it as a child - when you put yourself down, the ego gets scared (of you!), this leads to self doubt, low self esteem, low self confidence.. the cure is to treat yourself with love and respect, support yourself and encourage yourself.. you do this by talking nice to yourself, REFUSING to talk down to yourself - basically don't say anything to yourself that you wouldn't say to the person you most love in the world. Give yourself little pep talks -"I can do this", "by goal setting and sticking to those goals I can reach those goals" "It's easy to quit, but then I achieve nothing. Instead, I will get out there and FIGHT for what I want in life - I am going to give it my all, do my best, DIE trying if need be - but I WILL NOT QUIT. I refuse to lay down and accept this situation. I will fight for what I want in life!"
- set goals and think of small action steps you can do every day to achieve those goals. Every step in the direction of your goals gives you hope and encouragement. Focus on your goals, not on problems.
- practice recognizing negative thoughts and replacing them with positive solutions - as you practice, you are literally rewiring your brain, changing your thinking pattern - to a more positive outlook - and let me tell you this feels fantastic and powerful.. every action starts with a thought. Change your thoughts and you change your life!
