false labor is really common nothing to really worry about. Usually if you are actually in labour your contractions will be regular. about 4-5 minutes apart for a while is usually a good indicator. If you are having regular contractions that are false the best thing to do is wait it out.

I had Braxon Hicks contractions which is common but when I knew it was real labour is when the pains became closer together and got stronger and stronger. Another indication it is true labour is if you lost your mucus plug and experiencing some "streaking"...which is a bit of blood when you wipe yourself after you pee. Those are indicators your body is ready to have the baby. The best indicator though is if your pains get closer together and stronger....that's when you need to get yourself to the hospital.
