I recently got a letter from my college
that has a total balance of
all the costs/fees, the things I have paid for, the things I have yet to pay for,
and the additional aid (scholarship, grants, federal aids) I have received as of date.
I have applied for both direct plus loan and stafford loan earlier this year,
and I am pretty sure I did all the necessary paper work for these,
however, these aids were not listed on the letter mentioned in the above paragraph.
So my question is,
is that normal?
Do the notification for how much stafford loan and direct plus loan I have received come later in the year? If so, how much later?
It would be helpful to receive information from anyone that has also applied for loans.
Thanks in advance!
Update:I applied for it pretty early, like back in february or march.
I guess I should have been more clear,
they did notify me in other letters for estimates of how much I might recieve for the loans, but
they have yet to send the actual amount they are planning to give me.
Do you think that the amount of money I am borrowing (which is a pretty big number) has to do with the lateness of their reply?

As a student who is receiving loans, I would say that is not normal because I found the information of my loan within 2 to 3 days. Then you may need to submit more information, but the best way to find out what is going on is to call FAFSA at -800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243) . I hope this helps.
The problem you're going to run into is that he is 58 and has lived with it this long. You can apply for assistance, but the amount of time it would take to get any would take alot longer than the 2 weeks to get a paycheck flipping burgers.
It depends on when you applied for it. If you applied for it late, it'll take them longer to process and notify you of it.
Otherwise, I'd call your advisor and find out what's going on.
yes, I agree with Nicole, you have to call them, it's better to know
