I've been misled by someone who said that I could teach English here in Korea. However, I found out that it's not easy because their law states that only native speakers from certain countries are eligible. I'm in dilemma because I'm still jobless until now! Any suggestions where I can work? thanks:-) Fellow Filipinos in Korea are very much welcome to answer....
Update:I'm currently in Korea so it helps if the suggestions are workable here. thanks

I don't have a lot of local knowledge about Korea but with a lot of teaching jobs, there is that rule about being a native speaker from certain countries. It is actually a stupid law because I know some Filipinos, born in the Philippines and who have spent a number of years in a English speaking foreign country who speak the language like a native. I'm sorry to hear about your dilemna.
Have you checked China vacancies, they are often not so strict as long as you are a graduate. But beware, some employers will want to pay you a wage less than what they would to someone from say the States, Australia or the UK. Make sure you have a signed contract before you get to China and don't let them change it once you get here !
If the China option is for you, then email me and I would be happy to send you some very useful web addresses to check out. I've been a teacher here for four years and happy to answer any of your questions. Good luck in your search !
i have some friends who teach Korean kids the English language but they work here in the Philippines.. It's like a call center company where they contact their students at a given time each week and teach them English...
I haven't been to Korea so I do not have any idea about your dilemma..
BUT i suggest that you post this question to Travel > Asia Pacific > Philippines
Filipinos are on that side of this YA, maybe someone can give you suggestions regarding your question.... Take care..^_^
Get in touch with language schools in main cities
Tell them you have an ESL qualification and will be able to teach
English is especially valued by parents of children aiming to go to Uni
Put anadvert out in local newspapers saying you will give them tuition at home after school
Find out local rates first Good luck
