Either the sending unit or the wiring to the unit is bad. The sending unit is inside the fuel tank. I would just reset the trip odometer every time I fill the tank and get used to how many miles you can go per tank. If in doubt, fill up early. Anything short of the fuel pump is not worth pulling the tank in my book. Without knowing the year, make and model of your vehicle, the sending unit and fuel pump may be sold as a single unit.
You can take out the sending unit and hook it up to an ohmmeter. Move the float arm on the sending unit and watch the reading on the ohmmeter. If the meter steadily reads higher or lower depending on which way you move the arm, then the sending unit may still be good. Then I would move onto checking wiring coming out of the tank and see if anything got damaged or if a short developed. The trailblazer I believe (don't quote me on this because I don't know for sure), might have an anti-slosh module which is used to steady out the signal coming from the sending unit to the fuel gauge so your fuel gauge isn't jumping all over the place as you drive with the gas shifting around in the tank. If everything else checks out, then I would suspect something wrong with that module.
it's known as understanding your motorcycle. Most of the more moderen harleys do have a gas gauge and haven't any petcock as they're gas injected. Non gas injected motorcycles that don't have a gauge may have a reserve that you'll be able to activate with the petcock. You will have to additionally understand your motorcycle, You will have to know the way it plays below distinctive stipulations. You will have to understand good what form of gasoline milage your getting and set your commute meter. You will have to practically be in a position to foretell inside a mile or 2 of whilst you have to cross on reserve. People have ridden bikes with out gas gauges for higher aspect of 70 years and had very little issues. calls for paying awareness, and in case your no longer paying awareness on a motorbike................
Yep It needs a new sender. It fits in the top of the tank and it's easier to do if you are well down on fuel.
There are baffles in your tank to stop fuel "sloshing" about.
it should be the level gauge in your tank meaning you have to drop the gasoline tank
