We're in Puerto Vallarta from 8am to 10pm on January 23rd, from the Carnival Cruise, what should we do in town?
We're 26, and we were looking for something unique that we can't do at home. We live in a touristy beach town, so sunbathing and shopping are not on the to do list. We'd like to do something more active, like snorkeling, horseback riding, etc, or something unique to the area.

Go on the Canopy tour..I can't think of the name of the one we went on..but it is the one that says it has the longest zip line. It is pretty good exercise..but a lot of fun.and safe...Also tour the tequila factory..
I love Puerto Vallarta..Horseback riding on the beach..or there is this pirate cruise, its a couple hours like from 5-9 I believe, its was tons of fun but I don't think you would be able to do that since you leave at 10. I would also suggest a tequila factory tour, you would be able to see how tequila is made and also be able to taste test the different types of tequila.. and parasailing is always fun too.
if you have time , try the canopy tours in the jungle-tere are 2 or 3 different tours. I did los Veranos (about 4-5hours). There is also el Eden, on the Predator movie set, but I'm not sure how long that takes. About $75 per person to hike and fly thru the jungle. Googlre canopy tours vallarta.
Here's a link I found that offers some good ideas for things to do in Puerto Vallarta. They have things like: sailing, whale watching, diving, dolphin encounters, horseback riding, tours, etc. Have a fun cruise!
horeseback riding is fun. however, make sure they don't give you a suicidal horse bec you're not going to be trotting around ranch grounds. i watched my cousin get really close to the edge of a cliff bec her horse was depressed.
Snorkling is definatley a good idea, and also try some great restaraunts. Also, guy(or girl) scouting!
parasailing!
