I'll leave it to your imagination what "bowel troubles" means, but basically I was doing my long distance run for the week (goal 11 miles). In the past when I run I have drank no water or gatorade during my runs. This was the first time I was incorporating liquid DURING a run. Everything was going fine until about 35 minutes in I start to feel a little nauseous? I don't know the word, but it is the feeling you get when you really have to go. I chugged on for another 3 minutes before hopping off the treadmill and running to the bathroom. Needless to say, I was unable to complete my run. So, does anyone know how I can incorporate gatorade into my run safely?

You may have been consuming too much Gatorade, or it could simply be tied to what you ate earlier, etc. Blood flow is diverted from the GI tract when you run so you need to watch giving it too much to process (which can include the contents of things like Gatorade, too).
If you're not used to liquid during runs I'd start with water.
If you want to use Gatorade perhaps dilute it or drink it only occasionally.
Most these days would probably try to find other sports drinks like Cytomax or Ultima, both of which you can mix from powder yourself and dilute as you desire.
i have only used gatorade twice in my running career and that was in a half marathon.. nothing more than a sip though... unless your sweating profusely gatorade isnt the best thing, go for water, if you feel you need gatoradet try watering it down a little and making sure you have something to absorb it on your stomach, about an hour before is good.... also try picking up your tempo a little more... when your body is working harder it pumps blood to the most vital organs, aka heart, and will constrict the blood vessels in the lesser organs such as your intestines in turn blocking you up for awhile... hopes this helps a bit
Try a different beverage,or water it down.To much liquid and not enough solid food will do this. Also take small sips not large drinks.Good luck.
