What is the most basic difference between a geometric and arithmetic sequence? Can you give a basic example of both sequences?
Geometric Sequences :
Each sentence is made of product of its last sentence by a constant.
Arithmetic Sequences :
Adding a constant value to each sentence, makes next sentence.
First take the transformations, 40 8, 24, 12,... they don't seem to be consistent so it is not arithmetic Now see if there's a basic ratio, ninety six/40 8 = 2, 40 8/24 = 2, .... definite so the series is geometric.
