How much should I weigh to not get my period anymore, since I'm a gymnast? I am 5'2 1/2. I have wide hips that really bother me if that has anything to do with anything. I want to also know why my hips are so wide if anyone can explain that to me. PS I weigh about 115.
Thanks in advance!!

I understand your sport means a lot to you but I don't think you should make yourself weigh less to stop your periods because it will make you extremely unhealthy? Periods are a part of every womans life and we have to live with it whether we like it or not - I think you should just accept the fact you are going to have a period every month and you shouldn't let it get in the way of the sport you love - (ever watched the tampax pearls advert? If not look it up!)
If you haven't tried yet then I suggest trying out a tampon, it would be a lot easier, but if you are yung I understand it may be difficult.
And to be honest having big hips doesn't matter at all - boys can actually find it quite attractive. Everyone comes in different shapes and sizes - and come on, you're a gymnast, you've probably got a great body anyway; no need to worry :)
Hope I helped.
PS: I am aware/I heard of a pill/injection or something which can temporarily stop your periods so if you still aren't satisfied you can talk to your doctor about it.
I used to be a gymnast for many years, then retired. I never tried to "force" my period to stop coming because 1) with all the amount of exercise that I did, it would stop on its own for a couple of extra weeks. But I hope you know there are some SERIOUS consequences that come with trying to force your body to stop its natural thing, like birth problems down the road when your older. If you think that trying to lose weight will simply make your period go away then go for it if you want, though I've never heard of that working before unless you get certain shots and pills and stuff prescribed by doctors (which is very hard to get and expensive). But if you do succeed, then I hope you know that there is a very slight to minimal chance that you might not ever have kids. Your menstrual cycles are directly connected to when your body tells/gives you the "ok" sign that you can conceive a baby at this time. But by disrupting your cycle, you also disrupt your chances of having a baby.
For what it's worth, I say don't do it! At some time and point you are going to want to have children down the road most likely and you don't want to do what your doing now, then find out in 15+ years that you can't because of what you did. It's heartbreaking.
My advice is just use a tampon, that's what I did. You can't feel them, they're painless, and easy to use.
**PS- your hips are so wide because that is just how your body was made; someone in your family genes had wide hips and ironically (or not) you got them too. I have have wide hips and long legs like my mom and grandmother.**
I really hope this helps :)
