General Exotics and businesses like it are not usually trustworthy. The photos on their website are not photos of the actual animal and they have actually stolen photos before. They cannot show you the exact animal you are buying.
The owner of the business, Eric Endsley, is a broker and never actually sees or know anythings about the animal he sells to you. No one in the reptile community is really too fond of brokers. How can you run a quality business without knowing about the products?
According to the BOI, there tend to be bad packing/shipping issues associated with this place. Animals have arrived lethargic or dead due to improper shipping or packaging malfunctions.
I would recommend buying from a breeder who actually can show you the individual animal you are buying. There are plenty! Check Kingsnake and Faunaclassifieds to find tons of small breeders looking to sell individual animals rather than species. There is just no substitute for knowing the exact product you're buying.
I ordered once from them. NEVER again. These are among the worst in the market. Notice how many reptiles are "field collected?" That is a very bad sign. Parasites, not feeding. This is basically raping the wild. I will NEVER buy anything from someone who sells horned lizards. It is a set-up for a failure and the death of a lizard that is now protected in several states,
This is a totally ridiculous site and has NO business in business.
Dont order from there. Try looking for iguana rescues. I got my male from a rescue about 2 years ago and hes great. Just look up reptile rescues and some should come up near where you live
From every review I read on google, generalexotics.com is one of the worst places to purchase anything. Why don't you check out kingsnake.com or faunaclassifieds.com.
