People get hung up on a few details and miss the main point of what the Zeitgeist film is all about:
1) Part 1 - Religion : Religious people take great offence to the theories described in this part, but the main point is that for as long as humanity has had religion, it has been used to manipulate people. Why? For countless reasons. Once one believes blindly in faith, they allow themselves to become targets for manipulation in countless ways.
2) Part 2 - 9/11 Inside Job : People have been arguing both sides for many years: the official explanation of what happened versus people's theories. The point is that media manipulated people using fear and uncertainty to blindly believe what was being reported. The fear being portrayed in the media of threats from terrorists was so strong, people literally gave up many rights that were fought for by their fore-fathers, despite you having a much greater chance of being killed in countless other more common ways than death by terrorist attack. It's not important if the attack was from terrorists or not. The point is that event has been used re-shape the country and the world using media.
3) Part 3 - Government and Corporate Propaganda : History is brimming with examples of the masses being manipulated with cleverly made and cleverly timed media. This way, the masses are not told what to do by governments and corporations. That would be wrong and people would take offence and not do it. Instead, media is used to manipulate the masses into doing what the governments and corporations want them to do. The masses think they are acting of their own free will, but they were often cleverly led along the path to the decisions that they were meant to make. This part of the movie has plenty of examples of this.
The 2007 Zeitgeist film ruffled a lot of feathers because it was perceived to be a documentary. Peter Joseph, the creator of the Zeitgeist movie, is a musician and an artist. Zeitgeist was meant as a form of artwork for Peter, demonstrating how easily humanity is misled. If one argues about the details and rejects the whole movie because they personally disagree with some theories presented, then one is missing the point of the movie.
I recommend the 2008 sequel, Zeitgeist Addendum, even more:
The first two parts of Addendum are again about manipulation of the masses, but the final two parts present a "solution" to the world's problems. The solution is radical, but compelling, and certainly worth the 2 hours to see.
Zeitgeist III had it's theatrical premier on January 15th, 2011. This third movie was released in theatres in 60+ countries and in 30+ languages around the world with most locations selling out. This third Zeitgeist film, "Moving Forward", is now also available for viewing on-line:
The first ever hidden camera incursion into the Grove and the bizzare pagan ritual, the Cremation of Care, practiced by its members, all men, including both Presidents Bush, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, Colin Powell, and Henry Kissenger to name but a few.
"The Order of Death" picks up where "Dark Secrets" leaves off. This new work exposes the connections between the Bohemian Club and Skull and Bones and other occult secret societies. Jones explores the roots of the Grove and its links to occult networks dating back to ancient Egypt and Babylon.
This new film delves deeply into the history of the Grove where powerful men make decisions that affect the world but are completely hidden from public scrutiny. "The Order of Death" details how the Grove has been the backdrop for some of the most earthshattering events in human history including the development of the Starwars program and the Manhattan Project.
