Every computer has a power supply. What you need to know is if your power Supply can handle your new video card. In the video of how to install a power supply the guy goes over the basics of how and which one is the best to choose for you. Also a power supply and a video card are two completely separate things, there is no WITH, either one can be replaced without doing anything to the other. Both installations are pretty simple.
Good Luck!
Graphics Card Power Supply
If you open your case, you can see how much power (in Watts) you already have, its on a sticker on the power supply box. If the graphics card you buy requires a direct power supply (has to be linked by plug directly from the power supply box) then usually the appropriate cables and adapters will be included in the box with the graphics card. There will also be instructions. Some graphics cards do not require any extra power cords or plugs, they simply sit in their slots (no other attachments). There will be many videos of this on YouTube. It is very simple. Some power supplys have the appropriate cables already, and will be labeled. For example, if you have a PCI-e card, the plug at the end of the cable from the power supply, will say "PCI-e" directly on it.
Yes, you have a power supply that is already supplying power to your cpu. Check the graphic card's requirements. My card required a minimum of 500 watts. The stock power supply that came with my pc was 300 watts. I went overboard and bought an 800 watt power supply and installed it myself. Very easy and I am an amateur. Or, you can pay someone $20 to 60.00 to do this for you. You'll need to check your existing power supply to see what wattage it is and if it is ok for your graphics card.
If the card is compatible with your mother board then you will be able to pull out the old one and easily install the new one. I'm sure someone else can guide you towards a video or easy instructions. Good luck!
The power supply in your computer was designed to handle all the devices that came with the computer. Once you start using after market devices then you are asking for trouble if its not compatible. You could fry the power supply by using a higher rated graphics card.
Those are 2 seperate parts and both are VERY easy to install. Unplug it from the wall and all of the periferals such as keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc... Use your kitchen table so as not to cause static discharge and touch your hand to the metal part of the case to discharge any electricity already built up in your body. Pay attention to where the old 1 came out and put the new 1 in its place.
dude
if ur computer didnt have a power supply in it then it wouldnt run
so of course u already have one
open up ur computer to find out how much power it puts out
ur video card might need more to run it at its best
Search the website of the company that made your computer.
