Gun control compromise?
The left wants to outright ban weapons ownership but they can't the right wants to reduce the restrictions on COnstiotutional rights of ownership. the big stink right now is over "assault" weapons and high cap mags....here is the compromise install the tougher background checks and regulations on those types of weapons only make getting them more difficult for the bad guys and this system allows the hunting and sporting community to remain the same as it is now for checks.

Making something against the law will not always stop it.. examples.. War on drugs,Drunk driving!!. If guns were ever against the law than only the bad guys would have them..

Tough background checks don't work. Criminals steal or smuggle guns in. There can be no compromise because with every compromise is the loss of liberty. I will not leave my descendants disarmed and easy prey for a future Hitler to appease cowards who will not take responsibility for their safety. I would rather endure the heartbreaks of a thousand Sandy Hooks then 1 Auschwitz concentration camp!!!
i like the actuality which you have placed plenty theory into this, no longer an argument being made by using the left in any respect. I in elementary terms have one situation with quantity 2. we could say a women people is raped, she is clinically shown to have melancholy, rigidity and specific fears approximately her risk-free practices. She has no situation with being precise knowledgeable on the weapon or she already is. below the recent regulations, she could be petrified of reporting the rape or her subjects coming from the rape in worry of dropping that weapon and that weapon is the only element helping her by using this time by using giving her risk-free practices in her very own residence and permitting her to get some relax. What "bad guy" will bother to go through a background check?
Seems useless and a major restriction (infringement) on law abiding people.
Here's compromise: universal background checks. End the freeze on machine guns. You want one, you give the other.
How about this for a compromise...enforce existing laws, jack up the penalties for any crime where a gun is used, and execute any criminal who kills with a gun. Note I say CRIMINAL. Anything else violates my 2nd Amendment rights.
When it comes to the 2nd amendment you can't give them a 1/8 of a inch.
You realize that the bad guys get their guns by stealing them off the good guys, so background checks make no difference.
Why does the "hunting and sporting community" need them??
The root cause of the problem is Americas attitude to guns.
That has been proposed but the NRA is opposing background checks. They want the crazy people to continue to own guns.
The government is already too busy to enforce the current laws. How would adding more laws change anything?
