I've responded to many girls under 15 experiencing in hair loss since 2009, due to hair straightening. Women 60-90 have those same symptoms but it took them years to get there. But for 15 & under, giving advice here? They can't predict the future of their hairs, until they're in their 30's, but 15 & under with hair loss? C'mon!
Hair protectant doesn't protect hair 100%. Like using sunscreens, you still get sunburned. Same with hair.
When it does that, it is too late to do anything about it. That's another reason why the hair industry is a billion dollar business, their main job is to make tons of money and they do not give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss, due to 'abuse'.
Completely eliminate the 'cause' and your hair will improve.

Same thing happened to me. I used to have natural big curly hair. I first started straightening my hair when I was 15. Now I'm 19 and my hair is not that curly, (some pieces of hair are wavy and straight) and my hair is thin and falls off a lot. Hair straighteners do damage hair. Even if you use a heat protectant, it's still not good to apply heat because you just lose a lot of your pretty natural curls. So basically what I did was THE BIG CHOP. I cut my hair shoulder length (it used to be mid back). I do not apply heat to my hair anymore (only my bangs though). I am taking Biotin, Fish Oil, & Women's One A Day Vitamins. I work out 30-45 minutes 4-5 times a week. I drink lots of water, eat healthy foods such as chicken, fish, veggies, etc. I wash my hair 2-3 times a week and use a good leave in conditioner (Garnier Fructis). I also deep condition my hair with extra virgin olive oil & honey.
Hi Sarah,
Yes you can loose hair and get your hair tin due to straightening unfortunatelly.
Hair loss is a very common problem among people. In most cases abnormal loosing of hair is a sign of health problems. What is abnormal loosing of hair? Do not panic if you loose from 50 to 100 hair per day – this is normal. If you clearly lose more or you see hairless spots on your head – see your doctor.
So 50-100 strands of hair loss is totally normal and in limits, but if you still want to have stronger hair against hair loss, i advice you to check the following web page, where you can find recent best 10 shampoos that help you to recover from your hair loss problem and they are really great. The page ALSO has information about the possible reasons of hair loss.

I advice you to give Nioxin a try, if you are able to buy it in your city.
In the web page above, you will also find some other information than just shampoos, to prevent hair loss.
Hope this can help you.
Hello,
It's certainly possible that excessive heat from daily straightening could have weakened your hair follicles over time to the point that they're beginning to fall out. But before jumping to any definitive conclusions, it would be best to get an expert opinion to verify that since there are many other possible hair loss causes, i.e. genetics, thyroid problems, stress, etc. I'd suggest scheduling a free consultation with a Bosley physician at one of our many regional offices (all listed on our website).
Our people are hair loss experts who can diagnose the specific cause of your case & recommend appropriate treatment options, if necessary. Best of all, the consults are conducted free of charge so at the very least you receive the information you need to move forward in addressing your problem without having to spend a dime for it. Best of luck to you and hope everything goes well
Yes, I had experienced this 4 years ago. You should strongly consider laying off straightening, wearing more protective styles (ponytails, buns, etc.), deep conditioning your hair and taking vitamins for the hair like a hair, skin &nails, silica, vitamin E, MSM and biotin.
Using a heat protectant is better than not using one. But it seems that you just need to let your hair rest.
When I experienced this, I work protective styling and didn't use any heat (no blow dryers, flat irons, curlers, etc.) on my hair for about 13 months and my broken off spots not only grew back but caught up to the rest of my hair! (I can't explain it but it definitely happened and I have pictures) Leave your hair alone, let it rest and grow back!
Remember: The less you do to your hair the better. Hope this helps!
There are many methods to make our hair grow faster, shine , glitter in natural ways without using chemicals. Age, menopause, pregnancy, genetics, illness, and other factors all play a role in hair loss. Sure, you can use drugs or you can go in for a hair transplant or fusion, but sometimes the easiest, most inexpensive solution, is to try to stop hair loss naturally.
Poor nutrition is probably the origin of many thyroid problems (including low thyroid), and rich nutrition is vital to reversing them, or at least to prevent further decline. Learn here https://tr.im/Gd6du
Healthy thyroid function depends on a range of nutrients, especially selenium, folic acid, and iodine. Since most people cannot optimize levels of these nutrients through diet alone, a medical–grade supplement is vital. Of course, supplements should be used to complement, not substitute, for a balanced diet.
Stress in all it’s forms is another key culprit of thyroid dysfunction. Most of us experience a high degree of the most damaging kind — unremitting stress. It is important for hypothyroid treatment to identify the stressors you face and learn techniques and activities that can help you reduce your stress.
