Kia is right about Malwarebytes, however there are some new variations of the Antivir virus that will prevent you from installing the Malwarebytes software. If you do download the Malwarebytes make sure you only download it from Malwarebytes.org, as there are some virus mirrors out there that claim to be giving you a copy of Malwarebytes when they are really distributing more computer viruses.
If you clicked on the gray warning button that popped up when you went to navigate away from some page and your computer froze up for a few minutes and you've got the full install of the virus then there isn't much you'll be able to do without a computer tech. Once there's a full install on the hard-drive it usually has to be plugged into another PC that is running MalwareBytes and HijackThis and scanned that way. Also remind the computer tech that he or she has to make sure to turn System Restore off after wiping the virus off the hard-drive and rebooting the computer, then turning System Restore back on after the reboot or else the virus will reinfect from your System Restore files.
Ok, the best thing you can do is for the moment do not buy any MCAFEE it slows down and the scan is not good and fast. The best this is probably to take that lab top to the geek squad at best buy. If you say that this (virus) has been doing that stuff. It's been there for awhile probably attacking your windows defender and hard drive. Sweety, if you keep it on it will certainly shut off and the virus will lock on it's own password and not let you in. Happened to my brand new Toshiba but took t to Geek Squad and got it fixed. So DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANY ANTI VIRUS OFF THE INTERNET EXCEPT MALWAREBYTES. Most off them are Idenity theft. Just shut it off and take it to best buy or Radio shack (best option best buy geek squad).
