yes they are... the quality is way better and it lasts longer.. if its in sephora.. its good.. if you want good products that are really reliable, you have to spend a little bit more :)
It depends on what you are looking for.... In my opinion = Mascara: mid-range is fine (I like Maybeline Great Lash); Eye Shadow, Eye Liner and Lipstick: Go with a mid-range priced product (like Maybeline or Loreal, etc). I definitely wouldn't go cheap- you don't want to damage your eyes! ; Foundations and Powders: Go a little higher. I love Clinique (especially dewey smooth- $25ish); Skin Care: It depends on your age. I'm in my mid 20s and I have found that paying more is worth it! I would definitely see about products such as those carried at Sephora (Murad, Philosophy, etc). The great thing about Sephora is that you can actually test the products in the store before you buy. I could spend the whole day there!
PS- If you want Sephora products but not for the Sephora price, check out ebay. I generally save 20-50% when I do! Just make sure the seller has a high positive rating (98-100%) and that the product is new, preferably sealed.... I, personally, have never noticed a difference between products I've purchased on ebay and those I've bought at Sephora. Its the same stuff!
To be honest. Dont get your make up from drug stores. Theyre over priced. Get them from WalMart. I usually go for CoverGirl, Maybeline or Anabelle. Most of the Sephora products are similar to others so look around before choosing Sephora.
I think there are definately some overpriced items there! However, there are some items, such as certain brands of make-up that I think everyone loves. Sometimes you can feel the better quality.
the idea is that the pricier brands are given more attention during production---in terms of their quality, safety, and effectiveness.
i don't know how you can be completely certain, but if you could, it would be great if you just tried them all out and went with what was best for yur skin.
ask your friends and find out which brands best worked for them.
