For a project I need to write a complaint letter to a manager of a restaurant about my experience there. Any stories or ideas? (Stories/ideas can be made up)
1] ordered steak rare and received it well done and got told by the manager that I ordered it that way - everyone at my table backed me up.
2] seated and waited for 15 minutes, asked hostess she said some one would be over no one came went back asked for manager he realized the hostess had dropped off silverware so all the waiters thought we were some one else's table
3] My friend received the wrong plate of food when they realized the mistake they took her plate and put it in front of another diner then gave her his plate [we never went back]
4] We had a waiter with a red pulsating bump on his neck about the size of a golf ball
5] was served a glass of iced tea in a mug fresh out of the dishwasher on a tiled table the mug shattered
i've been a restaurant manager for years. My favorite story is about a Mother's Day brunch I worked. The General Manager(my boss) decided to take any and all reservations that called in. Needless to say, we were very overbooked. Families with "reservations" were waiting a long time for a table. I can't tell you how stressful it is to be extremely busy and have people furious when they sit down because they waited a long time when they believed they had a reservation. One family, however, after waiting an hour for a table, finally got their food and found a cigarette butt in their food. I was the sacrificial lamb that got to visit the table after this horrifying discovery. Not pretty.
I have had any and all foreign objects get into food, but this one was the absolute worst. I even had a roach in someones drink---they had already taken several sips of the drink. yikes--try explaining that one.
We were at an upscale restaurant one night celebrating our anniversary when the couple across the aisle from us let out a scream as a cockroach ran across the table. The manager came running and assured them that their dinners would be comped and brought them drinks on the house. About 15 minutes later the very same thing happened to us! The manager didn't even bother to come out of his office and the only thing they did for us was brought us a couple of glasses of wine...which we don't drink. It was our last time going to that restaurant! They closed down about a year later.
This is true- my husband and I went to a Brazillian restaurant for lunch. We had been there once before and it was cute. They had a lunch buffet. We got there 15 minutes after it opened and there wasn't any food out. So finally they put some cold food out and said we could start and the hot food would be out in a couple of minutes. So, I took some cold food and my husband waited. It took them a total of 45 minutes to put the food out from the time they opened. You couldn't order from the menu at lunch, so that was the only food there was. I had already started eating the cold food, so we had to wait. Then we ordered cokes and the waitress brought us warm cans of coke.
We couldn't believe a restaurant with no food! My husband ended up getting fast food for himself after we left.
You should make up scenarios about food cooked improperly and staff that was unwilling to change it, or something similar. Be sure to say that you asked to speak to a manager, but he or she wasn't there. That way, the hypotheitical restaraunt manager can't say, "Well you didn't say anything, and there's nothing we can do about it now!" Also, remember to be nice and polite, i.e. not too demanding or rude. You'll catch more flies with honey.
true story - i live in kansas and there was this chinese restaurant that had opened up, and about 6 months after it opened, the ceiling caved in and cats fell down out of the ceiling. it was all over the news here! i dont know if the cats had just crawled up there and had been living there, or what, but that placed closed down about a month after that.
Read through it for a while, and amalgamate several of the complaints...the more of them, and the more absurd, the better. Be sure to be creative in putting it together into one coherent event, you're going for inspiration, not plagiarism.

Why don't you write based on your own experiences, it'll make it more credible...i'm sure you or your family has had bad experiences.
