I'm 5'6 and weigh 140 :( I've been gaining a lot of weight since summer started & I want to lose 10 pounds quick. I don't really have time to run(I hate it) but I love to walk. What can I do to lose 10 pounds in a couple weeks? I'm a pear shape so all my weight/fat goes to my stomach and butt. My upper body is fine.

Girl, I'm in the same boat as you are with the exception that I weigh 165lbs and you weigh 140. When I dated my ex-boyfriend, I was off these meds that make me gain weight, and weighed a mere 126lbs. I was a size 8 back then. I could even fit into size 6 and 4 clothes depending on the maker. I lost weight by eating less. I often stayed at his place and found I had little to eat while there and didn't want to make a pig of myself by overeating in front of his family. I would eat small portion sizes wherever and whenever I was around him, his family, and his friends. Now, I'm on the seafood diet. Whenever I see food, I eat it. I know I have to lose weight but it won't be easy. One way for me to lose weight quickly is by walking every morning with my father and dog up Griffith Park in Los Angeles, CA where I live. There is a hill and a hiking trail up that hill with a steep incline. I figure if I do it everyday for a year, I'll lose the weight eventually. Plus, I do yoga from time to time and like to dance and swim from time to time too. Problem is I overeat, but I know how to fix that easily. I just have to have the will power to do so. So, to answer your question, I say, have the will to lose the weight, eat less, exercise more, walk more, and you will lose the weight. Oh, and keep yourself hydrated and drink lots of water. Drinking water may make you feel bloated at times, but it'll keep you full when you need to eat less. Also eating an apple before lunch and dinner helps to keep you full too. That way you eat less. Eat 1500 calories per day. Walk at a normal speed for 2.5 hours every day. You'll lose the 10 pounds in a little over 2 months. But if you jog for 2.5 hours every day (not all at once, you'll hurt yourself), you'll lose the 10 pounds in a little under a month. Take your pick.
DO NOT try to diet. It's actually really really bad for you. Please please don't! This is what you should do instead (read it in Cosmo alllll the time). Drink ALOT of water, it will flush toxins out of your body, reduce water weight (it sounds silly but it's true), and keeps you fuller so you don't eat as much or have insane cravings. That's the best thing to do. Other things to do would be cut carbs out of your diet (white bread, buns, etc and white pasta especially, but all breads and pasta), and work out (cardio is the best, it heightens your metabolism which also helps you lose weight).

Do 45 minutes cardio workouts a few times a week
Chew thoroughly chewing each bite 30 times before swallowing
At a restaurant split your meal and eat only half meal and take the rest home if the quality is more
Restrict your diet and your calorie intake, less than usual. Plus, drink lots of water because it makes you feel full, yet it has 0 calories. =)
Diet pills may work, but i do not recommend them because you may get too dependent on them.
i have the same problem:/ i weigh the same, but i'm 5,2. what i would do is eat less. like, eat the foods you like, but less of it, and it'll eventually shrink your stomach and less food will make you more food. go on a daily walk maybe :) you could even get someone to walk with you. i like walking with other people so i have someone to talk to.
