I've decided I want to lose 20 pounds, not only to look better, but to be healthier! Right now my plan consists of jumping rope 20 minutes 4x a week, taking three walks a week (I live in a colder region so this is a little more challenging) and doing forty situps and another toning exercise daily. Does this seem sufficient as far as exercise is concerned? I'm a little stumped on how to eat. I've been eating junk food all my life, so I'm unsure of where to start. I'm not really sure what I need to eat and I'm not a fan of healthy food. How many calories should I be eating daily?

you may want to check out a diet to. The motto is you consume less and lose more. Meaning you consume less then you’re able to burn by exercise and naturally each day. For some more workouts and diet ideas you may want to check out boyels.com .After watching the video I decided to give it a try and so far I've lost over 20 pounds (It’s only been 2 months). I must say it works really well with my body but yours obviously may be different, who knows. Anyways no matter what way you decide to lose weight, you need to remember to put in 140% effort in every day and remember while others are sleeping we are running. I wish you the very best luck in your journey to lose weight.
2 months ago i was 5'2" and i was 180lbs. Thats ridiculous. I started working out Monday, wednesday, and friday (workout tapes, crunches and teadmill). On tuesday and thursday i dance vigirously for an hour. and on saturday run a mile (not all at once lol)
You should still be eating healthy
Now i am 145lb and still loosing. (my goal is 125)
I bet if you follow my routine you can drop your 20lbs in 1-2 months too! You can do it! Its all about will power.
Now, say you have a bad week, You dont excersise, and you're eating pretty badly, DONT do what i did the first hundred times i tried. I stoped if i had a bad week, said "screw it" and gave up. Thats bad! Just be better the next week.
I think you should follow my excersice plan or make up your own. Just remember that if you keep it on a set schedule, after about 2-3 weeks you will WANT to. And if you're not working out at those times that you usually do, you wont know what to do with yourself! lmao.
GOOD LUCK SWEETIE!!! I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT! :D
Well, the jump rope is good. Cardio exercise is where you should be for fat loss. I would say this is good but the more the better really, I would stick to that for a while and then slowly increase it as it becomes easier.
The problem with junk food is it is just too easy to eat. My advice would be to not have it in the house. Just like an alcoholic does with booze, if you are not near it you won't be as tempted, especially since you said you live in a cold area, who wants to walk to the shop for junk food if it is freezing.
I would start by sticking to three meals a day. I personally have a couple of slices of toast for breakfast (toppings aren't really a problem unless you are spreading half a tub of chocolate spread on), then I have a sandwich for lunch and some fruit (good thing about sandwiches is you can put whatever you like on it, mix it up each day) and if you want a small piece of something sweet (as long as it is small. And not just small for you small for everyone in case you were thinking of the same loop hole as I was). Then I say for dinner/tea eat what you want again provided you don't eat like a pig you should be fine.
If you get hungry in between times try to each something but keep it as low in fat as possible, sugary foods are despite what people say fine to eat as long as you don't mix sugar and fat. If you eat loads of sugar and loads of fat at the same time your body burns the sugar and stores the fat in the cells under your skin, which will make you....you guessed it, fat. But if you are low on sugar and hungry, eating a sugary snack will restore your energy and keep you going until your meal time comes around without making you fat. You know coca cola gets a bad rap pretty much all of the time but I think a quick swig of cola when you are flagging a bit at the end of the day is a great way of keeping your hands out of the biscuit barrel while your dinner/tea gets ready.
Another tip is not to get wound up by calories, as far as you are concerned they are a unit of energy, if you don't know what energy is then you don't really need to worry about it. Women should take approx 2000 calories a day, if you do more exercise you can eat more without worrying about eating too much but you do have to keep tabs on how much exercise you do so you don't accidently eat excessively. Good luck, just remember losing weight isn't complex, but it is a challenge so take it a step at a time and don't starve yourself, all you will end up doing is making yourself miserable.
what i do, sense im a very self conscious person, after every hour i spend in front of a tv or computer i punish myself by doing 50+ sit ups, 30+ pushups, 40+ squats. All in all this would take about 20 minutes, it doen't make me extrememly fit but it keeps me from becoming unfit
