Im 16 and Im 5'9 and I weigh 240 and I want to be at least 200 by December. I started weight lifting in May so I can get stronger and Im playing football this coming year. I workout every other day but its limited and I am only able to do strength training on my upper body. The problems I have is my diet!!! I have no idea what to eat and I like eating fast food. Im also sure I have a slow metabolism because I usually eat 1 or 2 big meals a day and a lot of snacks. Also I don't do any cardio because I cant wake up early in the morning and sadly Im embarrased about running in the afternoon. I am though gonna start running when football starts in August.
Can someone tell how to speed up my metabolism and a good diet to follow with easy and cheap food to make everyday.

Here are a few tips;
WHEN to eat for losing weight...
• Eat (at least) three times a day.
Because when you eat only once a day, your metabolism gets slower than it already is! That's the main reason. Sounds funny, but to lose weight... you must eat (the right things, of course)
• Eat low-fat, high-fiber foods such as salads and vegetable pastas.
• Your last meal should be before 18:00. Try.
OK, one apple after 18:00
• Don't starve
Starvation is not good for losing weight, nor your health.
Starvation is the worse thing you can do in a weight loss diet.
• Try oatmeal instead of cornflakes for breakfast--eating oatmeal can help reduce cholesterol levels, and its high fiber content will keep you full longer.
WHAT to drink for losing weight...
• Drink 6-8 glasses of water every day !
Can be tap, plain, mineral, sparkling. I just love mineral sparkling water!
This improves your bowel, reduces the "hunger" sensation, and hydrates your skin. Your skin will look much better after the first weeks!
Don't believe the slogan "water makes me fat". Beside being stupid... you might get into serious troubles with your kidneys.
• Drink ONLY natural juices, freshly squized!
Don't drink Coca Cola, Pepsi, Spite etc. during the diet. Even lite or light versions.
I thought this was not possible for me to achieve. Now... I don't even LIKE them anymore!
Nothing compares to the the smell of a fresh natural fruit juice! Not speaking about health...
• Avoid those vending machines by carrying around your own healthful foods and leaving pocket change at home.

• If you want quicker results - exercise would be good.
But remember, you're not going to attend the Olympic Games! If you exercise a lot - you'll get very hungry... and you'll be tempted to eat more. Don't exagerate!
Walking is fine (but not very slow...) for your body, and your spirit. Half an hour, or one hour /day - it's up to you.
Get fit while you sit new workout program that's the laziest way to get in shape - works almost any place, anytime, anywhere… even while watching TV!
• Don't just sit in front of the TV and eat peanuts...
I guarantee THIS won't work for your weight loss...
• Start a regular exercise program and stick with it. Don't be afraid of those sweat suits and Lycra pants!
• Start swimming. Swimming is an excellent exercise to get involved with, since it increases blood flow and uses muscles we don't regularly use. Start a swimming program and try to do it 3 times a week. You will feel excellent and rejuvenated.
• Choose an exercise program that you enjoy, and don't shun the unconventional. For instance, did you know that regular vigorous dancing is exercise too?
• Also Cardiovascular exercises such as running, jogging, or aerobics will help you lose that unwanted belly fat. Weight training can also help you lose body fat because the more muscle mass you have, the more ability your system has to burn body fat.

Well, I get that question a lot from many people I help.
I'll eventually tell you how to lose more weight in a healthy way and maintain it for many years. Especially, since you play football, I'm sure you want to tone your muscles.
In the mean time, here is how to lose weight quickly.
First, eat a small portion 6 times a day, every three hours.
Second, drink lots of water- 8 glasses a day.
Third, cut down on soda and switch to diet soda or even water.
Fourth, do NOT skip breakfast.
Fifth, eat lean meat such as chicken and turkey.
Sixth, do not eat within two hours before going to bed.
Seventh, carry healthy snacks such as fruits and baby carrots.
Eighth, start running 30 minutes a day, 5 times a week.
Last, sleep at least 8 hours day. Lack of sleep makes you eat more.

Well, buddy, first thing you need to do is cut down on MickyD's & B.K. But, if you absolutly have to, go for a grilled chicken, NO fries, and a bottle of water.
The best thing to speed up ur metabolism is to FEED it! Right now your body thinks it has to store the food. Every 3 hours have a light snack. Choose food high in protein like nuts,hard boiled egss, or beef jerky. Stay away from sweets and sodas but allow yourself ONE a week. (but not one big enough to equal 3!) That would be your reward for staying with it (even when you slip)
On your workouts, try to change them around. Your muscles can actually get used to a routine and you will not see very much results. So just give things a twist and keep your body guessing.
The balls really on your court. It you want to loose 40 by Dec. it's possible, you juat have to put effort into it.
Well, although I have no guarantee that this will work, I think it would be great if you follow this pattern-
your new day:
-from 8-9 have a simple toast with butter and orange juice. Then have a walk with a friend.
-from 9-10 work out on weight lifting
-from 10-11 work on situps and pushups and bars
-from 11-12 have a caesar salad and a bowl of fruit
-from 12-2 practice football
-from 2-3 have fun hang with friends but DO NOT EAT
-from 3-6 run,swim,and play your favorite sport
-from 6-7 have a plate of pasta and some water
-from 7-8 take yoga *its good for the body and relaxation*
-from 8-9 do nighty-night preparations
- at 9 sleep
lose 40 pounds december
lots of cardio and a good diet. no more soda or junk food.
40 by december is a very attainable goal. dont give up!
exercise is the best way to loose weight.Having a salads is good for you and there are a different things you can put on it. Don't forget the fruits and drink plenty of water!!!!!!
