ok i am a teen, weigh 171 and 19% body fat. i want to lose 20 pounds before school starts and there is like 34 days till then, i take a multi vitamin everyday and drink a slim fast for breakfast. but i can't seem to lose much weight... i know i have to burn 3500 calories a day to lose a pound a day, plus the # of calories i eat.
so my questions to you are...
1) how can i use this and nothing else...nordict track pro glider thing. a nd an iron gym pull up, push up thing.
2)Anyone who tells you losing weight quickly is easy is not telling the truth. It's tough to do. But you can lose weight quickly if you're willing to increase your level of activity and cut your caloric intake.
I'm going to explain exactly how you can lose a pound every day. If you're driven to lose weight and simply don't have the patience to lose weight over many months or years, keep reading. When I diet, I diet for 20 to 30 days. I lose 20 to 30 pounds. You can, too.
To begin my program I make sure my body is completely cleaned out. You can use an enema or a laxative like Epsom Salt, but you need to be sure you're not clogged up when you start. I prefer to take Epsom Salt in orange juice the morning I start my diet and exercise.
I go on a diet of around 1,000 calories a day. No, you won't starve, and if you choose your foods properly, you won't even feel hungry. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. I'm also fond of Lean Cuisine.
Next, you need to burn up the 1,000 to 1,200 calories. You must burn them on any type of exercise equipment that measures the calories you burn. Don't worry too much about how many calories you eat each day. Just be sure you burn up every single calories you've eaten on your exercise equipment before you go to bed.
So far, you're eating about 1,000 calories per day, and you're burning up that 1,000 calories per day on your exercise equipment. Exercise off the equipment doesn't count.
A pound of fat is equivalent to about 3,500 calories. You won't burn quite that much during a day unless you're a very active person, but you will burn at least half that much in your normal routine.
Don't stop mowing the yard, cleaning house, jogging, or anything else you do. In fact, you should increase your activity off the exercise equipment. If you do, you will burn up that 3,500 calories every day, and you will lose a pound every day.
I didn't say this would be easy. But look at it this way. It's only 20 to 30 days. You can do anything for 20 to 30 days.
Do be careful about hydration. You need to drink plenty of fluids and get the salt and potassium your body needs to keep it hydrated.
A pound a day--you can do it
WILL THIS WORK?
3) what are some good fruits and vegitables i can eat that taste good?

After I saw the words "Lean Cuisine", I started to worry....all frozen packaged meals are loaded with sodium as preservatives, so I would just do this:
Exercise as often as possible and eat raw fruits and vegetables with some baked fish each dinner. Drink water and take a vitamin B complex supplement for nutrients.
Then, Try this:
Eat brown rice, veggies and baked fish for dinner.
Oatmeal for breakfast with fruit in it.
Drink fruit smoothies during the day for a snack. Try to eat protein at every meal...for breakfast with the oatmeal, eat a scrambled egg white or a hard boiled egg.
Eat a salad or chicken/turkey sandwich on whole wheat for lunch. Use olive oil and vinegar dressing...no saucy dressings.
Drink water only.
Never eat white or processed foods.
Try baked sweet potatoes...mmm... Eat spinach salads, not plain lettuce and add all the veggies you want to it. Try red wine vinegar...a few splashes and a little drizzle of olive oil.
If you want a crunchy snack, cut up a cucumber and put in lite Italian dressing or better yet, half cold water and half white vinegar. I mix mine with some cherry tomatoes too...
A good smoothie needs a good blender, so make sure you have one, cut up 1 banana, some blueberries (about 10-15) and strawberries (about 5), a cup or so of skim milk, a sprinkle of flax seed (buy a container of it and keep in fridge), a scoop of vanilla protein powder and blend it up, add a bit of crushed ice and you've got a good smoothie. You can add any kind of fruit...I cut up peaches sometimes too or frozen cherries.
Try reverse crunches, where you lift your legs up and out. Go to SELF.com for good tips...I love their workouts. Walk or run a lot and
use a stability ball for crunches.

3500 calories to burn a day is more than you're calorie allowance to eat a day, so losing a pound a day is physically impossible, unless you're morbidly obese. Which you aren't. Try aiming for 10 pounds, it's 100% more achievable in your time period.
Losing a pound a day will not do anything except burn you out, and you'll more than likely die if you try.
All you have to do is this:
Make sure you have some protein in the morning. a single egg will give you that for only 80 calories if you scramble/fry it with pam cooking spray. hard boiling them works too. have that with a piece of toast and a piece of fruit and that's only 300 calories.
exersize an hour after breakfast. Jogging for half an hour will burn 270 calories. If you even jog 15 minutes and walk 15 minutes, that's still 230 calories. GONE! Then as soon as you get home, drink a big glass of milk- at least a cup and a half.if its 1% milk, that's only about 160 calories.
Lunch is next. Make sure you have protein! pb and j is classic and relatively healthy if you measure out the servings.a small sandwich with some milk and fruit or veggies (no dip!) is only about 400 calories at the most.
Dinner. MORE PROTEIN! chicken and pork are your best bet if you GRILL them. for 3 ounces of either, its about 100-120 calories. have a small amount of starch, like rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes. a half cup is bout the size of a small orange. Grill your vegetables, which taste amazing if you marinate them in italian dressing before you but them on the grill.
If you really need dessert, ice cream or frozen yogurt is good. don't bother with ben and jerrys or haagen daaz, they are so caloric. if you have breyers, dreyers, or edys, those are amazing and are low calorie for ice cream. remember to measure your serving!
you cant 2 pounds a week is the best you'll do (some weeks 3, some 2) and to get that to happen, you need to eat 1200 calories a day or lesss and exercise a lot you'll be hungry so i suggest busy yourself with something new, to keep your time busy, rtight up to bedtime even its the only way if you try to exceed the 2-3 pound per week maximum your body can do, you will only make your metabolism shut down, and then you still wont lose weight, also..if you lose it too fast (or eat poorly, or dopnt do exercise well) ypou will lose muscle instead of fat..and so end up with a saggy body so dont be so worried about weight loss worry more about healkth..your weight will go to normal and stay there if you live healthil;y
I had weight loss surgery. Yup, that's right. But before I did, I was required to shed 20 lbs. I was mortified. I didn't know if I could do it! But I had to if i wanted to qualify for the surgery. I met with a nutritionist who explained to me that the foods that are the biggest causes of weight gain are:
white flour
sugar
carbs
She told me to switch to 100% whole wheat grain breads, pastas and cereals.
She told me to eat carbs sparingly.
I was also told to avoid candy. cookies, sodas, chips, cakes, ice cream and all other yummy desserts. Instead, eat and drink things low in sugar or sugar free. Eat and drink things high in protein!!!
Natural sugars are okay like fruits. High carb foods like raisin bran is okay because it is high in FIBER.
Also, it is VERY important to eat the meal in a certain order! If you have meat, vegetable and a carb on your plate (like pasta, rice or potatoes) make SURE you eat the protein food FIRST! Then the vegetable, then the carb if you have room.
PORTION CONTROL is very important! Don't eat like a hog. Any piece of meat should be the size of a deck of cards.
Avoid Slim Fast. Too much sugar in them. Drink the Atkins drinks.
Make sure you get some form of exercise that works on cardio. Try walking, dancing, swimming, jogging or bike riding. As long as you get your heart pumping for a half hour to an hour almost every day.
Don't skip meals! Your body will take longer to lose the weight because it thinks it is starving and it hangs onto the fat as long as possible to protect itself.
Breakfast should begin with protein like eggs, cheese, or yogurt. NOT a pastry, donut or coffee and cream.
If you must drink soda, make sure it's a diet soda. You should also drink lowfat or skim milk and plenty of water,
I did these things and guess what - I actually lost the weight in time for the surgery! And no, I could not lose ALL the weight by using this diet because I have a back disability which prevents me from getting the proper exercise I need to lose the weight. I needed the help of the surgery and my MD approved it.
But this diet can work for you if you do it and don't cheat.
eat more protein
Stop counting you re not going to be lose weight overnight Just concentrate on diet and exercise
Replace chips with salad to cut carbs
do your grocery shopping with a list and a time limit that way you re less likely to stray into the processed foods section
hit the stair climber for 11 minutes
wear comfortable shoes or keep flats under your desk so you walk more
