i use my babys playpen as his bed with the bassient insert seeing that he is only 2 months just make sure you dont put no blankets in there and really iit all depends of the age my oldest whos three used his till he turned 8 months
Playpens are really not recommended as places to sleep. If you place a mattress in them the soft sides allow for a gap where the baby could get stuck.
Why don't you just go on Freecycle, Cheapcycle, or Craigslist and get a crib for free or cheap? But buy your own mattress, second hand mattresses may contain mold and other allergens. You can get crib mattresses new for less than $40.
yeah they really don't recommend putting any extra paddings in the playpen. i went through the same thing because i really liked the idea of having my baby beside me , and i was getting sad that she was growing out of the bassinet position. So i just let her sleep in it anyways in the playpen position ( pad on bottom). i had to put her down really carefully when she fell asleep. It was kinna hard on the back ..but worth it i guess. now we moved into a new house... we didnt put up our bed frame yet.. just sleeping on out mattress. Her crib mattress is beside our mattress. I most say .. i really love it! She is 15 months now ..so she can get up and come to our bed whenever she wants! WE were co sleeping with her sometimes too cuz it makes it easier to nurse her at night before. so this is a good adjustment to slowly get her use to her own bed.
