I am trying to design a website for a woman using Wix (Wix.com), who is the most closed minded, ignorant person who I have ever met. She insists that she has website design experience, when in reality she has none at all whatsoever.
While in the process of designing the site, she calls me to notify me that "She refuses to use such a company as Wix to host her website." Her reasons?
1. She does 10 minutes of online research which leads her to a directory listing for Wix.com.
2. While researching Wix.com, she reads a few random, non-credible user reviews which cite random nonsense on why Wix.com is bad. (In the middle of hundreds which give it positive feedback.)
3. Because there is an allegation on this page that Wix.com was founded by Israelis, she refuses to use the service on this basis?
I have experience with the service and have only found it to be good in all respects. So what if it is created by Israelis?? I use products based on merit, not on race! How do I convince a VERY hard headed individual that Wix.com is right for her, when she thinks she knows EVERYTHING after 5-10 minutes of BAD research?
Update:To clarify: I am not getting paid for this. It is for a friend, and her old site looks like it was created 900 years ago. It is in my interest to improve her income via a newer looking website... However, she is not cooperating as she should!

I'm an IT pro, and if I came across a bigoted, know-nothing, fat heeled heifer like her, I'd flip her the finger and tell her to look elsewhere. Do you really want the cash that much?☺
She wants to choose the host? Fine? Let her choose the host and open the account. (I almost categorically refuse to get involved with hosting or domain name purchases unless I'm hosting the site.) Add an addendum to the contract specifying that. If she has a hosting problem down the line, let her take it up with the hosting company - you didn't sell it, so you're not responsible for it. (Contribute her check to an Israeli charity. She'll see the endorsement - and probably die of apoplexy.)
if the pay is bad then leave. If its good then just choose another host. It's not really a big deal and she's obviously a moron. Just do the job she wants even if you think its crap, get paid, and avoid such customers (and their friends).
LOL. If you are really talented and well prepared, show her your portfolio or LinkedIn profile. Tell her that you already did such services to lot of people before. :)
