I'm 24. I just took a job as a lifeguard. What I didn't realize was that the locker room showers are communal (wide open) and that its required you take a shower before entering the pool area. I somehow managed to miss the whole locker room shower thing in high school, and never had to do it. I'm not super modest with a quick change etc but something about taking a shower out in the open really freaks me out. I tried talking to my sister and she was just like "grow up, i shower at the gym all the time" I realize I am probably being immature, but I just cant see myself making myself take the shower.....but I need the extra money
How do I gain confidence (and please be more helpful than "just do it...." my sister tried that, NOT helpful)
PS: Noone at this gym "leaves their suits on", so as an employee, that isn't really an option

All girls have the same body parts, nothing each of them hasn't seen before. It's not like they are going to sit there and stare at you as your taking a shower. Im sure your not the only one that feels this way, but Im sure they just do it.
we've curtains (very flimsy) in our bathe. I nevertheless am shy interior the locker rooms whilst getting dressed... yet I in simple terms circulate great speedy--- and noone rather cares as they are getting themselves dressed. Your a lifeguard and in a swim fit for all time.. slightly nakedness choose count.. Do a great speedy bathe, have your towel waiting, throw on some sweats and pass homestead to take an prolonged bathe. in the experience that your desired to bathe formerly you enter the pool-- i could defiantly have my swim fit on already and in simple terms lather the cleansing soap. i will't think of taking an entire blown bathe formerly you lifeguard.
I've never heard of not being allowed to keep your suit on. If that's the case, I'd be looking for some peep holes, because someone's probably getting their jollies.
EDIT: I lifeguarded and was on a swim team since I was 8 years old, and never heard of such a thing.
Sorry, I don't buy the nobody leaves their suits on. Shower with your suit on.
Part of the reason you are expected to shower is to get detergent residue out of the suit. Yes I asked once and that was what I was told.
Sing a little song to yourself in your head, kinda like
"Locker room confidence hey yeah, I gots da locker room confidence because I know I'm good lookin
so if you're jealous that's your problem hey yeah, I'm gonna rub soap on my boobies now, hey yeah."
Can you not simply take a shower with your swimming costume on? I can't see how they can ban that.
Again? Time to freshen up the storyline here
(no one is gonna stare u down)
showering or money.. showering or money...i'd go with money
