I have a 12 year old golden retriever and brought home a 7 week old golden retrieverpuppy last weekend who has parvo. After having him two days, he seemed weak. I assumed it was from everyone playing with him. My breeder called me and said a few of her other dogs came down with parvo symptons. She gave me a antibiotic called biosol to try which made him drink, but not eat. I gave her the dog back per her request Wednesday. She told has been giving it electrolytes I think it was she said. She called today and said he is eating a little, barking and chasing other puppies around. She told me his temperature is 101, My questions are...is there say a time frame to know whether this dog will be ok, say if he makes it thru the weekend, now I know he has had this a week...will he be ok...My vet did tell me my older dog had his annual dhpp w/corona shot in March so he will be ok. Hope the puppy makes it but am curious on any info anyone has on a puppy surviving this.

Parvo is a very nasty disease. Puppies that get parvo don't rally right away.
First off, your breeder should know better. All puppies should be on a proper vaccination schedule. Sanitation is key as well. True parvo is considered a medical emergency. Puppies need to be quarantined and given supportive care that includes IV fluids, antibiotics and medication for vomiting and diarrhea.
If the puppy is acting better this quickly, chances are he doesn't have parvo but probably a heavy infestation of intestinal parasites. This is common and should not be a problem if your breeder had wormed them and kept their area clean.
This CAN affect your dog at home if he isn't on a monthly wormer. I would be cautious about taking this puppy back. Sounds like another back yard breeder to me.
Find out his progress over the weekend. The breeder cannot diagnose parvo, only a vet can, even though there are classic symptoms that go with it. A test is needed to make sure. Before taking the puppy back, I would demand that she have him seen by the vet to make certain what is wrong with him, then have him treated as need. She can't make those determinations on her own and if it is parvo, the puppy needs more help than she can give at home.
If it's worms, make sure your dog is protected. You can always get an additional deworming pill from your vet.
Best of luck to you and your pets.
Generally once they start eating again and playing, they will be fine. It is important that they are hydrated which is what the breeder meant by electrolytes. I would wait until Weds. to get the puppy back to make sure it will be okay. I am pretty sure it will be now. Good luck, I know how you feel. I went through this with one of my Aussies when they were 7 weeks old.
Sounds like you bought your puppy from a wonderful breeder. If he's on electrolytes, and is eating and playing then he's probably going to be just fine already. Parvo is a fast acting killer. If he was going to die he'd be much sicker than he sounds here. 101 is a normal dog temperature. Their temperature is higher than humans.
