Find the side that allows you to write onto the disc, if both sides work, just pick the side with the best looking reflection of you as the top ;). Simply record onto the other side and then use a permanent marker to write onto the disc. Option two fine one of the sticker labels sold in most school supply stores and place it on the disc making sure it's flat on the surface and use the marker there, be sure not to use pencil to write onto the disc ever.
