Go to the Control Panel in Norton, here you can turn off/on functions for limited periods say 30min or 1hr or indefinately. This gives you enough time t download updates. It is turned on automatically or when you reboot.
given which you have already got Norton circulate forward and use it. don't get spysweeper, too. Spysweeper use to be a competent product yet each and every new replace looks to have slowed the outdated laptop down. With 2 classes slowing you down you have problems. Norton is a source hog in itself. I have been given rid of Norton after some years of use and have the AVG suite which i like and have had no problems like with Norton. I easily have used AVG over a twelve months now. Get the unfastened AVG or the unfastened large anitspyware and run it as quickly as a week just to have a backup to Norton. sturdy luck
I assume if you go to the icon on the right toolbar and push the right button you will find some kind of feature that temporarily stops the software. If there is nothing, try to go to your sittings in Norton and disable the firewall. Hope this will work.
