How do I use a 'crack' on a computer program?
I want to get a program called ableton live 8.1, and I don't have enough money to buy it.
I've never pirated anything more complicated than music. I've downloaded a file from the pirate bay, but it just doesn't work. Does anyone know a good tutorial? I've seen a bunch of message board comments saying that I need to install a crack or a patch, but I don't really know how to do that.

MOST cracks are viruses. If u ran it and it didn't work, better run a virus scan immediately.

Look, if you aren't capable of figuring out how to do something like this, you're really better off just not doing it, PERIOD.
It's way too easy to end up infecting your computer with a bunch of nasty viruses and whatnot, and then the authors can use your computer to do all sorts of stupid annoying and illegal things - like try and hack into other computers from your computer, or send spam from your computer, or trade kiddie porn on your computer. When the police come, they'll arrest you, because it's your computer. And what's your defense going to be? "I was just trying to steal this software..." Yeah. Good luck with that.
I bet if you spent a bit of time looking you could find a program that will do what you want for less, or even for free.
