How do republicans feel about gun control?
How do they feel about gun control? What's their stance? Do they feel strongly about this stance? Are there any examples? How would a republican respond to a comment on the random shootings and amount of deaths due to guns in the United States? Any additional information would be great. I* have a debate next monday and tuesday on this topic from the stance of a republican.... Much appreciated! :)

If you mean gun laws, they're all worthless and haven't done anything to reduce crime. You said yourself there are random shootings and deaths because of people irresponsibly and often times illegally using a firearm they shouldn't have. What have these laws done to stop that? Essentially nothing.
What sense then does it make to pass more of these laws which won't do anything? Here's a little clue. Give people the ability to defend themselves and legally blow away the bad guys who have guns.
We should have criminal control and prevention. Taking away guns is will only hurt law abiding citizens. It's like taking away fire because some people are dumb and put their hands in it. All states that have gun controls for the most part have higher crime rates. Those that have more gun rights tend to have little crime.
To them gun control is shooting the guy they don't like in the back.
And ignoring half of the Second Amendment.
Gun control doesn't stop gun violence, it only creates an imbalance by letting criminals have an advantage over law abiding citizens. Gun violence increases in areas with gun control. (check this statement, not sure if it is perfectly accurate, just generally true.)

they believe that there should be basically no restrictions on gun ownership. this is not intelligent because there are some insane people in this world that should NOT be owning a weapon

Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Cars kill people, too. If we outlaw guns, we need to outlaw cars, too.
