My laptop screen is breaking, it keeps going fuzzy, so for now before I get my new laptop I want to connect it to my tv so I can view it on there. I don't have a HDMI slot on my laptop, so what can I use? is it possible?

This all depends on your TV.
Most laptops, even older ones, come with a VGA connection, maybe even DVI connection.
You can get either a VGA or DVI cable and run it from your laptop to your TV. But, like I said, depends on if your TV also has those connections as well. Fortunately, there are cables that convert from VGA -> DVI and DVI -> HDMI. So if your TV does have those types of connections, then just find out which you need.
If you don't have Hideout, there's always VGA. The universal and ever-handy port is featured on a surprising number of HDTVs, and if you have it you can connect VGA-to-VGA with the appropriate cable. VGA only carries the video signal, however: for audio you'll need to go through the laptop's audio-out jack, which in some cases doubles as an optical audio-out port. You can buy a cable splitting off to RCA outputs, or plug an audio cable into an external speaker bar.
Check if both your laptop & TV has VGA or DVI slots. If both devices have those slots, then you can buy VGA or DVI cable to connect them
