id like to be in a big film as an extra! like in a huge battle scene like in lord of the rings or savein private ryian!! just wonderin where do you find out where is goin on!!
There are a few ways. One is to get an agent. They will often send you on "cattle calls for background and extra gigs. The way I got into backgrounds for Falcon Crest was a casting call in Variety. It's a great resource for the budding actor. Just be careful. One of the calls I got from there was for a Gay play. Who knew Theater Rhinoceros was an alternative lifestyle playhouse. lol. The other way is to contact production companies with a resume and head shot expressing an interest in extra work. Break a leg!
It depends on where you live.... someone posted a site for the UK but if you're in the US it's obviously different. Specifically in CA you sign up with Central Casting (or any number of smaller ones like Cenex, Bill Dance, etc.) They all charge a small fee and that is normal for extra work. They take your picture and put you in their computer and they call you for work or you call in for work. If you are under 18 http://kidsmanagement.com/ is where you go.
In NY it's Central Casting. In other states, try looking up your local film societies, associations, etc. Their sites have info on projects filming locally and may be able to point you towards work. Do an internet search for your state name and the word film and see what sites come up.
www.thestage.co.uk - might have something in the tv or film industry..they do advertise for such things so i understand. dont think its hollywood stuff...but everyone has to start somewhere!!
