You know you're suicidal if you have serious thoughts of ending your life and think about how you would do it. If you are suicidal then most likely you are very depressed as well. With depression, you have very little self-esteem, self-confidence and hope. You are sad and down most of the time for at least a couple months. You limit your activities and don't have interest in anything anymore. Both are very sad and seriously damaging states to be in and if you have either one of them, especially suicidal thoughts, you need to see a psychologist right away. He/she will assess your condition, try to talk to you about solutions, and can refer you to a psychiatrist for medication that could help or suggest going to a hospital if it is severe. However if you're seriously thinking of ending your life within the next few days, don't wait on a psychologist. Call 911 or 1-800-SUICIDE now. Even if you don't see hope, it is there, as long as your heart keeps beating and there is a lot of help out there that will give you plenty of reasons to live. Not just survive, but thrive.
If you are depressed, you won't feel like doing anything, you might feel tired or have a low appetite, you won't enjoy anything, even things you normally liked to do like going out with your friends or playing games. If you think you are suicidal or depressed you should really seek help from a professional and talk to your friends and family. It's nothing to be ashamed of; depression is quite common.
