Hey my boyfriend and I had sex for the first time like a week ago. During and after though, I did not bleed at all, not to mention it was very short, only a few minutes. I went to the health clinic today to get my birth control check up. The doctor also did an exam on me and I asked her "is my hymen broken? Because I didn't bleed during sex and it was short." Then she checked me down there and said "wow, it's completely gone. By the looks of it, it's been broken for a very long time!" I was so confused! If it didn't break from sex then what else could have done it? I'm just curious here.
Update:I'm 20. Yeah I don't know too much about this stuff lol plus I'm mildly autistic.

Actually, I read some article on a sex advice page a few weeks ago saying that the hymen is actually a myth. They interviewed several women about their first times and whether or not they had knowledge of they "hymen" breaking or any blood/pain and the said the same thing: no blood, and nothing fitting the description of a "hymen". I had the same experience when I lost my virginity, no pain, no blood and certainly I had never felt a "hymen"...
Anyways, it's nothing to worry about :) Oh sweet! I actually found the video. Hope it helps clear some stuff up, I think it's legit. Take care!

Do you cheerlead, dance, or are a gymnist? Have you done anything recently that would break your hymen? I'll check this question & refresh & edit this :) Oh & how old are you..?
Edit:
Maybe while you running or stretching you broke it.
i might say probable. I certainly have the comparable element in spite of the undeniable fact that it is extra like a sprint string some centimeter or so long. I did flow to the checklist because of the fact that i replace into like WTF yet she stated it relatively wasn't something to be concerned approximately
I’m a virgin, mine broke during dance class.
mine broke while biking.
