I was reading on a website that to get the right kind of nipple stimulation to use your breast pump. So I did and both breast I got colostrum from after about 30 seconds of pumping. Does it mean anything or is it just wishful thinking on my part?

Wishful thinking. Some women produce colostrum at 7 months pregnancy. There is no relation between when you produce it and when you go into labor.
Wishful thinking- I started producing colostrum at about 18 weeks pregnant. They say with the nipple stimulation it can take a couple hours to get the "right" amount of stimulation. You could always try taking a walk or having sex.
It's hard to give a straight forward answer since every woman is different. While some people will swear by spicy foods or intercourse the baby is going to come when he/she is ready. Your body will kick in producing colostrum when it feels the need to. It's amazing how even after done nursing I could hear another baby cry and feel the milk wanting to produce. It's the motherly instinct that never quite goes away.
Yeah, sorry. I've been producing colostrum since about 20 weeks or less.... and now it's literally to the point where if I lean on either breast, they absolutely gush. It's soooooooo annoying!! Lol. I wake up in puddles sometimes! Ugh. I don't think it would bother me so much if my daughter was actually here... but right now it seems just pointless!!! Hehe.
Good luck getting labor to come on!! :)
I started making colostrum at about 20 weeks. Nipple stim will help you go into labor, but one time is not enough. You pretty much have to do it a lot. There is some good instruction out there if you are really interested.
You start producing colostrum about 4 months before you actually go into labor. You shouldn't use your breast pump to induce labor. For 2 reasons, one..bc colostrum is like liquid gold for you baby. It has all the nutrients and antibodies in it that your baby will use to fight off infections for the rest of it's life. Second, it can cause your milk to come in early. Nipple stimulation has to be done for 5 minutes at a time every 15 minutes for 3-4 hours at a time for it to even have a chance at working. You would need to spend most of your time stimulating your nipples to produce enough oxytocin to cause labor to start. If you choose to continue this. You can gently twist, pull or tug your nipples and have the same effect. Let your baby come naturally. It knows when it is time. Nothing you can do will induce your labor anyway if the baby isn't ready. When a baby's lungs are mature enough for birth, they secrete a hormone that tells the mother's body it is time to start labor. Anytime you induce labor before that happens naturally, you are risking that your baby's lungs are developed enough for birth yet.
I am 28 weeks and have had colostrum since 24 weeks. Sorry, wishful thinking...it will not bring on labour
