it ends today. You have the power to be happy, my dear. It's all chemicals in the brain making you fell like this...you just have to be stronger and look past the illusions these chemicals produce of sadness and down right hoplessness. I swear to god once you look past it, you'll be wondering why your were depressed in the fist place. Remember, you have the power and it's just chemicals. Feel happy soon :)
There are many different types of depression ranging from very mild and occasional to severe and prolonged. Most "normal" persons get depressed temporarily about various issues but they snap out of it soon. So there is not normal length of time someone is depressed. This varies greatly form person to person. I refuse to take meds because of side effects. So I use other methods to distract myself until I snap out of whatever depression I happen to be in. Keeping busy with hobbies or even ordinary daily tasks is a good start. Playing pleasant music, hanging around other happy people are just two things U can try. Volunteering to help less fortunate humans also takes your mind off your own troubles. There re lots of things U can do to help yourself. Go to the library and read up on this subject. Best of luck.
I guess it depends on what you're depressed about. If you have a chemical imbalance in your brain, then you need to find the RIGHT med to help you. Tell your doctor that the medicine isn't working. Or, if you're depressed about something in your life, indentify what it is, try and fix it and move on and enjoy your life. Life's a gift, don't waste it. You're worthy of happiness. :)
