I own a HP laptop. I tend to keep the brightness down to extend the LCD panels life. Am I overly concerned? It seems it will last 10+ years if I keep it at mid level, but I keep it below mid level to be sure it lasts.
How long do laptop LCD's last?

Depends on your laptops, cruddy ones (300-$400) last 5 years, cheep ones (400-$600) ones are 6-8 years, kinda expensive ones (700-100) are 8-12years, and expensive ones (1300-$2000)go from 14-20 years.
I've got an 8yo PowerBook that's still doing OK. But are you seriously planning on keeping that laptop for 10 years? Forget it. You will probably find it too slow to be useable in about 5 years, more likely.
i've got had an analogous subject and the exhibit screen lasted for enormously much a year. the sole ingredient replaced into an stressful pinkish-crimson line that variety of 'rippled' down the left fringe of the exhibit. finally, i desperate to choose for a exhibit screen alternative and acquired an analogous pc from Ebay. It had a useful exhibit screen, yet something of it replaced into busted. I related it to my pc base (video connectors & all) and it labored. I nevertheless use it, 2 years down the line.
