I have a feeling a ton of people are going to say they've owned a certain number of horses in the PAST, or have leased a horse or are currently leasing one.
My survey-type question for you is, how many horses do you own NOW. As in this very second... whether you board or keep them at home, how many?
I have 6. Then again I have 5 kids who all ride, so they've all got their own, then there's mine.
I currently have 1 that's not technically "mine". I was given her by a friend because she needed her gone for college. I trained her and I'm trying to sell her to an amazing home because my friend asked me to.
So technically I have 7, but own 6 of my own.
What about you?

I know 6 is a crowd, but I board them all and that takes a TON off my shoulders, I really do mean that! :D

I guess people with more than 1 horse manage through connections, a good-paying job/s, boarders (get money from the board), or train & sell horses. And whoever said people only need one horse for themselves, I disagree! I never planned on getting a pony for my daughter and a horse for my son! I rescued them from very bad homes, helped them, trained them, and now you'd never know they were mistreated because they're both just amazing horses - and I think that if anyone has extra room, money, and time... definately adopt/buy a horse from a local rescue and help it. :)

I have 2, both were rescues in need of some TLC but you wouldnt know it now :)
I will only ever own 2 so I know I can afford whatever they need, plus they are finacialy draining enough, I couldnt imagine supporting more! I look after them on my own :)

and only me, my dad, and a friend, Jenny, are their to take care of them all! but I wouldn't trade any of them... they are my Life!

and some stray cats that hang around the barn.

6horses 1pony a donkey and my bfs horse is on her way in a few weeks. ... lol and they al stay on my 12 acre farm 11acres to the horses one acre for me and my 4dogs and 5 exotic birds. talk abouta crowd lol oh btw only 2 are technicly broke, ones green, the ponys retired as my appy (problem child) and im getting the other 2 broke in sept and the last one in another year.

I have one, a sweet Arabian mare that i keep at home. Soon though my friend will be boarding her horse at my place and i will also be getting another horse. But CURRENTLY i have one haha.

I compete them all regularly and neither my siblings or parents ride. I love them to pieces but I'm so lucky to have a stable hand at home to muck them out and stuff.
I own 5 at the moment, they all live at my house.. My mare, my gelding, my two retired boys, and one filly I'll be selling here shortly hopefully.. So soon 4 I guess. There are 4 other horses at my house I am working with, but thankfully they're not mine.. haha
