to get a larvitar first you need a pokeradar which you get from prof. oak in front of pal park. Secoond go to route 207. This is the route just above Oreburgh city. Then use the pokeradar (which will be in your key items in your bag) and find a Larvitar. Larvitar is very rare so it migt take you a while.

larvitar is rare and u have to use pokeradar in route 207. also, u can only get it in diamond. so if ur using pearl then u watin time. if u have diamond, just keep using pokeradar untill u find one.

No, You need a Pokeradar to encounter one. because, Larvitar is a Radar Pokemon. and can only be found by Radar. SO if you keep looking without the radar, you will encounter other pokemon.
