Itunes has duplicated every single song in the library. it's not the music files, since on the computer there are ~30gb and itunes says it has ~60gb. I tried deleting all the music, and the library files, then reloading music, but that didn't help. Whats the quickest way to fix this? Manual deletion is not an options and everywhere else I've looked needs an external program installed to delete dupes.
thanks
Update:OK downloaded that program, but seems you still have to delete the duplicate songs one by one. maybe I'm using i wrong, but unless you can delete entire duplicate albums, it doesn't really save much (if any time)
thanks anyway though.

I have successfully used a recently released and still free application which is designed to identify and delete iTunes duplicates. Found out about the tool from here:

Even though the tool is a third-party application, it is small and effective at finding and getting rid of iTunes duplicates.
I have tried fixing the issue with the iTunes-native duplicate display option, but this is confusing, slow and to be honest rather ineffective.
pass to view it really is next to controls on the very suitable of itunes. once u click view, their is an determination to exhibit duplciate songs. as quickly because it shows u reproduction songs only pass to edit on the very suitable of itunes and pass to go with all. then only delete them. got here about to me once.
