Like when I sparring with my brother how can I be fast enough to dodge a punch he throws. And what is the best way to take a hit to the body. I am reffering to street fighting anythough I try to avoid it at all cost. Just wanna be prepared
Stay in form. Remain in your guarded stance with hands up in whatever kind of defensive stance you like to use. Keep eye contact with your opponent, rather than focusing on your opponent's hands. Posting one leg slightly in front of the other gives you a better means of ducking under the punch.
Start to bend as your opponent punches. The moment you see your opponent go for the punch you should begin to bend at the knees. Keep your waist straight so you are able to watch your opponent and throw body punches if needed.
Swing from inside to out. As you duck down from you knees, start to make a half circle with your body so you can duck below the punch, move to the side and pop back up again ready to attack. Whatever the punch is, swing from the inside (the center of your opponent's body) to the outside.
Counterattack your opponent. You can throw body punches against your opponent while you are in your lowered position. Alternatively, pop back up and throw head shots to your opponent before he can bring his hand back to a defensive position. The key is to move quickly and stay light on your toes in case your opponent throws a combo, in which case you need to duck and swing in the opposite direction to avoid the hit.
Its much easier said than done but the idea is to move your center of mass away from the punch's energy as if it was an arrow, some punches can't be dodged or if you are attacked by a flurry of fast attacks the best way to block it is usually to curl up and cover your ribs and face with your elbows pointing out, you will see many boxers/mma fighters do that.
Well if he is right handed, his left will come first, you should slip to the outside of his left, meaning you pivot your body to the right, and tilt your body foward, whilst moving your head down a little and to the side and outside of his left jab, now his right is coming, so duck under it, quickly moving your hips and feet to your left and come out from the other side outside his right and come up with a left hook. .
When you duck remember to duck as soon as you slip, now this is the most simplest of slip/duck and you must be prepared as he could be fast so have your right hand up guarding your face and watch out for uppercuts, speed is your best friend here you ahve to do this quick.
Practice! Buy a bunch of 5 cent rubber balls and throw them at a wall about 30 feet away from you. Try to dodge all the balls, or even catch all of them. Attempt parkour, that helps agility and, if you've not planned out your course, quick thinking.
