I'm not sure if i need to enable it or if there is another problem. I have a Maxtor OneTouch 4 500GB external hard drive. The port that goes from the drive to my computer broke, so i took it apart and now i have the physical drive out. I purchased an eSATA power+>Update:

I'm not trying to boot from the drive. I just want to use it as an external hard drive, but still boot from my main one.
