Hi. I'm a girl and I'm turning 16 soon. I've come to realise that time flies by way too fast and I don't wanna waste another second of dreaming instead of actually taking action and chasing my dreams.
I really love music with a passion and I want to become a singer. (I've already had some lessons in music)
I always dreamt about being in a band. Like for exemple Fifth Harmony or Little Mix.
I thought about auditioning for the x factor as a solo act hoping to get put in a group like Fifth Harmony and Little Mix.
But idk if I should do it or not. What do you think?
Now, my actual question is if I actually would create my own girl band, how do I do that? None of my friends would be in a girl group (they don't really sing). How do I find people?
It is going to be a pop girl group like fifth harmony or little mix. That kinda style. But even if'd I find a few girls who would care to join and sing with me, how do we write our own music if let's say none of us can play an instrument (cause I can't. I only sing and dance)
Because to get a record deal we'll have to do a demo but how?
And how do we send it to the record label?
How do we contact them?
Cause I found for example the capitol records (who have signed 5sos for example) but Idk how to contact them cause on their website isn't any contact information.
Also what would be the best record label to get signed to?
Capitol records, syco records, interscope records, …?
Really wanna persue my dream

You've received great advice and all of it is true. But to get right down to your original question, you need an agent. You don't contact record labels directly. You need representation and the money that goes with it. You can start by looking at the talent agencies in your area. You want to find an agent with the right history, skills, experience and contacts to get you into the record companies. You have to be prepared to audition for the agent. They don't have to take any client they don't think will succeed. In order to make that audition work you need to do all the things that the other posters mentioned. It's not easy. It's not cheap. It doesn't happen overnight. But that IS the way the industry works.
I'm a retired full-time professional union musician who has spent his whole life doing what you want to do.
Wow, you're not 16 yet and already feel like time is going by too fast?
There is a lot of competition. And what we often see on TV about the fame/discovery process isn't the same in real life. And it doesn't make all of them happy.
You should look at talent schools in your area and don't think it's going to happen for you so quickly, because it usually doesn't happen like that. It's one step at a time. You don't have a group together yet but are already thinking about demos and which label you are going to sign with?
If it's really meant to happen you will meet the right people and find the right path when the time is right.
First you are going to need at least 5 years of singing lessons to learn to sing correctly. So organise these first. No one is interested in beginner level singers who haven't had several years of singing lessons. Then get some song writing lessons where you learn how to write the music for the songs as well as the words. No one is interested in covers so you have to be able to sing original songs. You say that you are nearly 16 so you are going to be over 20 before you have had enough singing lessons and music lessons so you need also to get good grades at school so that you can go to college to get a good job that will support you while you are trying to make a career as a singer.
Check out Tim's advice above.
little mix and fifth harmony are not bands. they're singing groups
bands write and play their own songs using musical instruments. singing groups don't.
