It dosnt matter, what car you have, but to get better fuel consumption, you should avoid heavy acceleration, and braking, get into a higher gear when you can, this will keep your fuel cost down.and brake early to avoid wearing your brakes out,its easier just to keep a distance from the car in front.
If My diesel 5 series is anything to go by, You have to be in the right gear to get the best out of it. Too low a gear and You will waste fuel fast, too high a gear and You will have zero pulling power and waste fuel.
decrease priced gasoline, GM had some diesel automobiles in the 70/80s yet they have been slightly a catastrophe. yet issues are changing now, they are realising they are dependant on people who do in comparison to them! So now diesels and different effective automobiles are beginning as much as exchange into extra familiar.
don't always get into a higher gear just because you can; it will put a lot of pressure on the clutch assembly and may cause it to fail, and some clutch failures could cause you to lose a few toes, or maybe your feet if you don't have a scatter shield
as for braking early, that isn't always necessary. at the proper speed, you can shift down progressively to slow down instead of using your brakes, prolonging the life of your brake pads, but don't shift down too early or if going to fast. high revving is bad for diesels
With the exception of waiting a couple of seconds for the glow plugs to start, same as any othercar. Change up or down the gearbox at the correct time etc etc etc.
If you are used to petrol car engines then you need to change gear earlier without so much engine revs as it makes its best pulling power at lower speeds than a petrol.

no high revving

Diesels are low rpm reving motors... keep rpms around/below 2000rpm for best fuel economy.
i just switched to a diesel and dont drive it any differently to a petrol.
