There's always a couple of things that you need to remember to help with pirouettes, and when on pointe, you have to add a little extra too as is especially harder compared with flat shoes.
Always remember to pull up. Stay straight up and down over yourself as though a straight metal rod was going through you. Don't use your arms to throw yourself around and make sure you spot!
En pointe, make sure you spring up (more like a fast roll up, not jumping!) onto your full box with your leg underneath you. You can't really bring yourself to your leg that much for pirouettes en pointe, you have to step under yourself more and have it closer to you to make it easier to turn and balance on your box better.
The last thing.... practice! Make sure you don't avoid the right side when you practice any type of turns en pointe. I just started doing single pirouettes en pointe a few months ago, and left is quite obviously my weaker side yet I work on it anyways even though i'd much prefer doing right all day, lol.
Hope I helped. :)
1. get your knee as far to the side as possible. Feel as if it is leading you around.
2. Keep your shoulders down and your arms connected to your back.
3. Once you push off and get to position (as soon as possible) stay exactly as you are. Feel as if your in a passe just as you would be at barre, and your just rotating around on your (pointed) leg and foot.
4. RYTHM. Get the rythm in your body. Spot, SPOT. ALWAYS get around and spot 1,2,3,4 or however many turns you want to do. Your body will eventually figure out proper placement. (not that you shouldnt help it find that sooner rather than later)
5. Commit to your releve. You may be scared to stay up on pointe, but youll find if you really imagine your leg straight and your foot strong you will get around.
6. Feel weightless.
7. Watch good turners on youtube to see what they do well. And I mean graceful ones, not just ppl who can do nine crappy pirouettes.
8. Just go. Never hesitate before your turn. I often have a moment before a turn where I think, "this is gonna be a bad turn". Trust me, you will never turn well if you think that. If you must think before the turn say to yourself, "Stay on leg, get arms to position, stay on releve, just rotate in a perfect passe. You can do it."
Hope this helped <3 --Cleo
ok im a dancer too, yet I even have probly been doing it for somewhat longer than you so heres my advice: stay on your releve continuously. remember a million perfect turn is extra effective than 2 ok ones!, spot (seems such as you have this down!), whip your head around,, it relatively is somewhat significant!, and a stable prep is each thing! desire you get your pirouettes down. I additionally advise youtubes JFK or justforkicks video's. they have step by employing step training for all your dancing understand how's! :) stable success back!
try doing pirouettes on jazz shoes, then ballet shoes, then try en pointe.I know that it's really hard to start, but you'll get the hang of it.
another thing that you could try is to get someone to spin you and then go from there. Also, if you're still having trouble, you could ask your instructor/ teacher to help you, and show you and give you more advice.
Good luck, and I hope that I helped! :)
