I'm an 18 year old girl. I am about 5'3 and weigh about 150. According to BMI charts i am 10 pounds overweight. I want to lose 20 lbs in 10 weeks or less. I don't eat junk food really but i dont eat that healthy. I don't ever have to work out because im a college student and i work. I dont drink soda.
What are some tips for weight loss? Also What kind of exercise can i do that are effective but do require equipment and are not complicated to do?
PS. I was also thinking about getting some slim fast or something like that... Does it work?

Be realistic about exercise. Chances are, if you are 20 pounds or more overweight, you aren’t exercising regularly or often enough to maintain your desired weight. If you are seriously out of shape, or if you have a physical problem that prevents you from performing high intensity workouts, you can still burn extra calories with low to moderate intensity exercises—you’ll just have to have longer workouts to achieve the same results. But make no mistake; exercise is the key to losing weight fast. Whether you are doing low intensity or high intensity workouts, you will be burning calories while strengthening muscles.
Concentrate on eating fat burning foods. You don’t have to starve yourself to lose fat; you simply have to choose the foods that will help your body burn the fat. Here are some of the best:
Eat seafood at least 3 times a week. All kinds of seafood will help burn fat in your body by reducing the levels Leptin, a hormone that is linked to a slow metabolism rate. Fish oil is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and will increase your body’s fat burning capabilities. If you can’t include fish in your diet, take a fish oil supplement daily.
Eat at least 1 apple every day. Apples contain pectin, which reduces the amount of fat your body absorbs. Apples are high in fiber and low in calories, making them a perfect, nutritious and non- fattening snack.
Use garlic in your diet as much as possible. Garlic lowers insulin levels and boosts metabolism.
Add ginger to your meals. Ginger widens your blood vessels, which increases your metabolic rate.
Use olive oil as your primary cooking oil. Even though oil is fat, olive oil helps lower cholesterol levels, and has many other health benefits.
Steam your food and add lots of spice. Steaming your food instead of frying it will cut down on fat and calories, and spices will spike your metabolism.
Eat a variety of low fat dairy products. Milk, cheese and yogurt actually break down fat cells in your body and provide you with much-needed calcium.
Incorporate soy-based foods into your daily diet. Soybeans contain lecithin, which helps break down fat deposits in your body.

I dont think any pills or medicine works. Im 17 years old and I recently lost 30 pounds in about a month. All I did was exercise and eat correctly. Do not eat after 6 at night, if u get hungry drink water. Make sure to eat a good breakfast and between meals eat like fruit or a light snack. Because what makes a person have difficulty in losing weight is not eating because the body holds in the fat because it knows it wont be getting nutrients soon enough.
Hey! I'm a university student as well and started at 154 lbs. I am now down to 144 lbs (i'm taller than you and not in the overweight range but I still wanted to lose).
I know it can be hard to workout when at university and working, but you just need to make time fore yourself. She if your university offers any drop in classes (these are usually cheap) like Zumba!
However, you could start by just watching what you eat (no junk, nothing greasy, deep fried). Drink lots of water. I use Slimfast when I have no time to make anything (I sleep in by mistake etc.), and you will lose weight if you follow the plan (its less than 1200 cals a day which is under the minimum doctors and health experts say to eat). So once you stop using Slimfast, you will gain all the weight back (as you start eating like normal). My main type of exercise is running (I do the c25k program, google it! It is free!). You can also youtube Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred on youtube, it works and it is free as well as doing the 30 Day Squat Challenge (google it).
Don't for get to drink lots of water. I stick to drinking water mostly, as everything else adds calories (that I would rather be eating and not drinking!).
Hope this helps,
Aki
give your protein extra low calorie flavor by adding a salsa or chutney instead of a gooey cream sauce
Add extra 10 or 15 mins to your cardio routine
well carbs is a big weight issue like bread, potatos etc. I know that if you cut out carbs weight will go down pretty fast. Good luck !
when out at a restaurant ask the server to hold the bread snack mix or chips and salsa that might come before the meal if you re hungry youll be tempted
Better to drink warm water with lemon and honey
Avoid stocking unhealthy snacks at home
