There can actually be more parts to a prescription than your other answerer has suggested. There can be values for prism, bifocal power, slab off, and index of refraction if needed. So without you posting you actual prescription it will be difficult to really explain everything for you.
The prescription contains 3 numbers: The sphere power, the cylindrical power and the axis of the cylindrical power. The right eye is always written first. In some instances there is no astigmatism so only one number.
Some prescriptions also include the distance between the centers of the eyes.
