You can start any essay with a quote, interesting fact/statistic, rhetorical question, or an anecdote(short story). I think picking out a quote would be the easiest thing to do.So, just pick a significant quote from the story. But, don't just list it. You should give a brief explanation of what the quote means and how it ties into your paper. After you have done that, state your connections. Give a brief one sentence summary of the connection. It will be more explained in the body paragraphs. That's just to give the reader a sense of what they're about to read. Then with your last sentence, end it with a thesis statement.
