Husband did a system restore and it told him our file folders, favorites etc. wouldn't be lost. Well the they are no longer on the desktop. I can to a search and find pictures and some files but it is no longer organized and I wish to go back to they way it was.
I looked to see if I could undo the restore and go back to a seperate date but the computer is stuck on th December 08 calander and won't let me select an different resoration date.
Don't know what the next step should be except that I know I want to get all my pictures before they come up missing all together so I want to back those up before I do anything else.
Anyone have any advise?

Open System Restore.. look for the option " Undo System Restore".. Remember, you can undo only the last system restore u have done.. If its unavailable, then just relax.. dont wory.. you can still retrive your files in a rather difficult way.. because your files are still on the computer hard disk.. the only difference is that u cant see it now.. ( its not hidden) .. windows has deleted the pointer to ur files.. download the following software to retrieve deleted files from ur computer.. make sure u dont copy or move about any files in ur computer before doing this operation. Otherwise u will never get those files back..
If the data is lost then it would remain being so...... can't get them back.
However try the same option -- try to open system restore ... it sometimes gives the option to undo a previous restore.
